The junior canoe training scheme aims to provide fundamental canoeing training for aged 8-11 and prepare them to promote to Racing Kayak and Canoe Polo discipline. The Starfish Award is a 1-day course that introduces basic kayaking skills to beginners.
Please note that the price does not include an HK Canoe Union logbook or a certificate if applicable. Courses will only run when the course is fully subscribed, otherwise the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA (e.g. COVID-19 government-mandated closures), participants are entitled to a full refund. However, if participants withdraw due to individual reasons (e.g. participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements), except for sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, no refund will be offered. - Able to swim 50m when dressed
- Aged 8 to 11 (applying for a certificate)
- Aged 8 or above or adults (NOT applying for a certificate)

Tailored Course: Kayak 1, 2 & 3 Star Award (August 29, 30, 31)

The Star Award Scheme is a 3-day training course for novices to complete basic canoe training. The “Three Star Award” qualification is equivalent to the Elementary Certificate.
Please note that the price does not include an HK Canoe Union logbook or a certificate if applicable. Courses will only run when there is a minimum of 6 participants, otherwise the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA (e.g. COVID-19 government-mandated closures), participants are entitled to a full refund. However, if participants withdraw due to individual reasons (e.g. participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements), except for sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, no refund will be offered.
