On completion of the course, successful candidates will be able to launch and recover an Optimist Dinghy safely without assistance and sail single-handed in light to medium winds round a basic triangle course. OP 3 courses are normally not less than 14 hours and certificates are awarded based on attendance.
Please note that the price does not include an HKSF logbook or a certificate if applicable. Courses will only run when the course is fully subscribed, otherwise the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA (e.g. COVID-19 government-mandated closures), participants are entitled to a full refund. However, if participants withdraw due to individual reasons (e.g. participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements), except for sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, no refund will be offered. On completion of the course, successful sailors will be able to sail an Optimist dinghy singlehanded in light winds on all points of sail. The course builds on skills learnt in OP 1. OP 2 courses are normally not less than 14 hours and certificates are awarded based on attendance.
