The junior canoe training scheme aims to provide fundamental canoeing training for aged 8-11 and prepare them to promote to Racing Kayak and Canoe Polo discipline. The Seal Award is a 1-day course that builds on the skills developed in the Sea Horse Award.
Please note that the price does not include an HK Canoe Union logbook or a certificate if applicable. Courses will only run when the course is fully subscribed, otherwise the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA (e.g. COVID-19 government-mandated closures), participants are entitled to a full refund. However, if participants withdraw due to individual reasons (e.g. participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements), except for sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, no refund will be offered. - Aged 8 to 11 (applying for a certificate)
- Aged 8 or above or adults (NOT applying for a certificate)

The Star Award Scheme is a 3-day training course for novices to complete basic canoe training. The "Three Star Award" is a 1-day training class that builds on the skills learnt in the "Two Star Award".
Please note that the price does not include an HK Canoe Union logbook or a certificate if applicable. Courses will only run when there is a minimum of 6 participants, otherwise the course will be cancelled and the course fee will be refunded.
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA (e.g. COVID-19 government-mandated closures), participants are entitled to a full refund. However, if participants withdraw due to individual reasons (e.g. participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements), except for sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, no refund will be offered. A simple and fun introduction to sailing in an Optimist dinghy focusing on the basic skills of steering, balance and simple sail trimming. OP 1 courses are normally not less than 14 hours and certificates are awarded based on attendance.
